Viewing contacts, leads, opportunities or accounts on a Contour map
You can view one or more contacts, leads, opportunities or accounts on a Contour map. From the map you can also add a temporary place to the map and get driving instructions. The map provider is determined by your administrator.
- The security access determines what functions are available. Contact the administrator for any access rights changes. WebViewer users cannot access full functionality.
- You must allow pop-ups before you can view a Contour map.
Each map provider has a limit of the number of records or places that can display on the map.
- Google Maps - 10 records or places
- Bing Maps - 25 records or places
You can perform these related tasks:
- View the Contour map, by performing
one of these steps:
- Click Contact, Account, Lead, or Opportunity detail view. from in the Task pane on the
- Access the Contacts, Accounts, Leads, or Opportunities list view, select one or more records and click from in the Task pane.
- From the Opportunity, or Lead, and perform a Contour Distance Search. menu, point to Contour Distance Search, click , ,
- View a single contact or
account on a map.
- Access the Account, Contact, Lead or Opportunity detail view for the record you require to view on a map.
- In the Task Pane, click from . A map view is displayed with the contact, lead, opportunity or account listed and identified on the map.
- View multiple contacts, leads,
opportunities or accounts on a map.
- Access the Contacts, Accounts, Leads, or Opportunities list view.
- View the group or lookup results that contain the records you require to view.
- Select one or more records by pressing the CTRL or Shift key as you click each item. If you do not select any records all records are selected.
- Click from in the Task pane. A map view is displayed with the contacts, leads, opportunities or accounts listed and identified on the map.
- Add a temporary place:
- Click on the Contour map.
- Specify the name of the place you are adding in the Name field. For example, a hotel, restaurant, or airport.
- Specify the street number and name in the Address field.
- Complete the City, State, Postal Code, and Country fields.

- Get driving directions:
- Click on the Contour map.
- Drag and drop the contacts, accounts, leads, opportunities or places in the left pane, and click again to get an updated route if you require to change the order.
- Remove a contact, account, lead,
opportunity or place from the map.
- To remove a single contact or account item clear the check box.
- To remove all contacts or accounts click .
If an address cannot be located on a map, then the map pin can be red and located as close to the location as can be determined. For example, in the middle of a postal code, city, state or country. If none of that information can be determined, the pin displays on the map at the longitude and latitude point 0,0.
