Working with the Roles tab
Use the Roles tab in the Secured Action detail view to manage the secured actions assigned to a role. A role determines what functionality a user can access in the Web Client. Adding secured actions to a role determines what functionality the role gives access. Adding users to the role determines who gets the access.
Note: The system administrator and users
with the appropriate role can access these features. See What are Roles and Secured Actions?
The relationship between roles and secured actions is displayed on this tab and on the ActionsActions tab tab in the Role detail view.
- The Roles tab displays the secured actions within the role.
- The Actions tab displays the roles that contain the secured action.
When you add or remove a secured action from a role, the change is displayed on both the tabs.
To add a secured action to a role you can:
- Access the Secured Action detail view. See Using the Secured Action detail view
- Click the Roles tab.
- Click .
- Use the lookup to find and select the role to which you want to add the secured action. See Finding records
- Repeat steps 3-4 for any additional roles.
- Click .
To remove a secured action from a role you can:
- Access the Secured Action detail view. See Using the Secured Action detail view
- Click the Roles tab.
- Click the link for the role from which the secured action must be removed.
- Click .
