Deleting a SpeedSearch Index

You can delete a file system index or database index from the SpeedSearch Manager Indexes tab. To use the index at a later time, you can edit an index to disable, instead of deleting the index.
Note: The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can access these features. See What are Roles and Secured Actions?

To delete a SpeedSearch index:

  1. Click SpeedSearch Manager on the Navigation Bar. The SpeedSearch Manager list view is displayed.
  2. Click the Database Indexes tab for a database index.
Note: You can also click the File System Indexes tab for a file system index.
  3. Select the record you want to delete.
  4. Click the Delete Index link in the task pane.
  5. Click Yes to confirm.
  6. Click Yes to delete the index on the SpeedSearch Server.
    Note:
    • If the index is built previously, another confirmation window is diplayed.
    • If a file system index is deleted, only the information for the index itself (not the files) is deleted. If the files are no longer used, you can delete the files from the hard drive location to save space.
