Using the Custom Setting detail view
Use the detail view to see or modify information for a selected record.
Note: The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can
access these features. See What are Roles and Secured Actions?
To access the Custom Setting detail view, click from the Navigation bar and click to view the Custom Settings list view. Use groups to locate a custom setting, and click on the custom setting description. See Using the Custom Settings list view
On this page, you can:
- Use the Using lookup to search for records. See
- Use the Task Pane group list or common tasks. See Using the Task Pane
- View a group. See What are Groups?
- Click from toolbar or click the current group tab to display the list view.
The Task Pane contains the
section. In this section, you can:- Add records to Group. See Adding Ad Hoc group records
- Remove records from Group. See Removing Ad hoc records
Information fields
You can view this information:
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Unique ID | A unique name for the custom setting. |
Category | The category with which the setting is associated. |
Description | A brief description of the custom setting. |
Data Value | Allows you to define a data value for the setting. |
Data Type | The type of option for the custom setting.

Version | The version number of the custom setting. The version number does not increment automatically. |
