Defining the start workflow step
CRM Workflows support a start workflow step action that can be added and defined in the CRM Workflow Designer tab. The Start Workflow step starts another workflow within a workflow. Including a start workflow step in a workflow causes the specified workflow to be run as defined when the start workflow step is triggered.
The selected workflow requires to be active, however, do not require the trigger options to be selected or a trigger condition.
Note:
- Only workflows that are related to the current workflow entity can be selected.
- The entity record used for the new workflow is based on the relationship to the current workflow entity. For example, an opportunity workflow can start an account workflow that can be executed against the account associated with the opportunity.
