What is Marketo Partitions

The Marketo Partitions functionality can be used to link a contact or lead to multiple partitions and vice versa. Consequently various marketing teams can approach (market) the same contact or lead and the results can be tracked independently.

When a contact or lead is associated with more than one Marketo partition, separate records are created in the application, for each of these partitions. The application user identified as the Owner of a contact or lead is different for each record. This is because the application Owner data is aligned with the Partition Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) data.

  • The Marketo Partitions functionality is optional.
  • To implement the Partitions functionality in CRM, you must first configure Partitions in Marketo.
