Using the Forecast detail view
Use the Forecast detail view to see, add, or edit information for a selected record. The detail view consists of information fields and tabs.
Note: The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can
access these features.
To access the Forecast detail view, you can click to access the Forecasts list view on the . If required, use the to locate a forecast, and click on the description.

this page you can:
- Use the Using lookup. to search for records. See

- Switch to the list view using the on the toolbar, or click the current group tab.
- Take a snapshot. See Taking a forecast snapshot.
Information fields
The forecast information fields contain the primary information about the forecast.
- Description
- A brief description of the forecast. By default, the
description includes the assigned
user name
and time period, but the description can be edited.Note: Updating the Assigned to or Start Date fields automatically updates the Description.
- Assigned To
- The user whose opportunity pipeline forecasts. If necessary, click to lookup and select a different user.
- Amount
- The expected forecast amount. You can use the Worksheet information to help you determine the amount. Click the Total Potential Minimum Amount, Average Amount, or Maximum Amount in the Worksheet section or type a value. icon next to the
- Active
- If selected, indicates that the forecast is current. Use this to identify if this is the forecast for the current time period.
- Start Date
- The date to start the forecast. The forecast includes all opportunities in the pipeline with an expected close date or closed date between the start and end dates.
- End Date
- The date the forecast time period ends. The End Date is automatically calculated based on your company financial settings, but can be modified.
