Modifying relationships

Use the Edit Relationship view to modify an existing relationship. Relationships establish a one-to-many or many-to-one relationship between two entities, a parent and a child.

Note: The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can access these features.

To modify a relationship:

  1. Click Administration on the Navigation Bar.
  2. Click Entity Manager. The Entity Manager list view is displayed.
  3. Select the required entity from the list.
  4. Click Edit on the Relationships tab.
  5. Specify this information:
    Include child relationship property in the parent entity
    Select this check box if you require the child entity to be listed as a Child Property of the parent entity.
    Display
    The display name of the parent entity.
    Import
    Select this check box if you require the related entity to be imported when the related entity is imported.
    Note: If this check box is selected the entity is imported when the related entity is imported only if the Import check box is selected at the entity level for both the parent and child entities.
    Match
    Indicates whether or not the parent entity must be used as match criteria for an import of the child entity.
    Audited
    Indicates whether or not changes are being tracked for the field.
    Relationship
    Select the type relationship, one-to-many (1:M) or many-to-one (M:1), between the two entities.
    Include parent relationship property in the entity
    Select if you require the parent entity to be listed as a Parent Property of the child entity.
    Display
    The display name of the child entity.
    Import
    Select this check box if you require the related entity to be imported when the related entity is imported.
    Note: If this check box is selected the entity is imported when the related entity is imported only if the Import check box is selected at the entity level for both the parent and child entities.
    Match
    Indicates if parent entity can be used as match criteria for an import of the child entity.
    Audited
    Indicates if the changes are being tracked for the field or not.
  6. Click OK.
