Using SpeedSearch from the Menu Bar

You can select the types of records to search, specify the search criteria and perform a SpeedSearch from the Menu Bar.

Note: 
  • The previously selected record types remain selected until you clear them.
  • If you are in a list or detail view, and SpeedSearch is set up to search against the record type, the focus record type is automatically selected to search.
  • The most frequently used options are listed under Most Frequently Used. The number of Most Frequently Used to display is determined by the administrator. If multiple record types have the same frequency, the option most recently used is displayed.

To perform a SpeedSearch from the Menu Bar you can:

  • Specify the type of records to search in the SpeedSearch field, click the arrow to select the check boxes of the required record types from the Menu Bar..
    • To clear all check boxes clear the Clear or Select All check box.
    • To select all check boxes select the Clear or Select All check box.
  • Specify the search criteria in the SpeedSearch field, and click SpeedSearch option. As you type, a list of matching options display below based on the selected record types.
    Note: To search based on only the first few letters, type the first few letters, and add an asterisk to return records starting with the specified letters.
  • Click SpeedSearch. SpeedSearch is displayed with your search results and used to select additional options.
