Working with a Dashboard Line Chart widget

A line chart displays horizontal lines to illustrate the differences between specified categories. For example, the total sales potential of opportunities by account manager.

Line chart widgets are used to define and compare multiple data sources. Defining more than one data source creates a stacked or grouped line chart where multiple lines display for each item. For example, the total sales potential and total actual sales of opportunities by account manager.

To define or modify the widget properties:

  1. Click Dashboard on the Navigation Bar.
  2. Select the required tab to add a widget to or contains the widget to edit.
Note: You can add or modify widgets only to a dashboard that you create.
  3. Click Add Widget on the dashboard menu and select Line. The Widget Settings window is displayed.
Note: You can also click Settings to modify the widget properties and the data source(s)
  4. Define or modify the properties for the widget. See Widget Settings.
  5. Add or edit one or more data source.
Note: To create a stacked or grouped line chart you must define multiple data sources using the same dimension, and different metrics. If the data sources do not specify the same entity and dimension, the lines are grouped separately by dimension. For more information about data sources, see Working with Dashboard data sources.
  6. Click Save.
