What are ION Workflows?

The ION Workflow integration integrates Infor CRM based activity with the Infor OS collaboration tools. The CRM based trigger conditions and corresponding data content published to Infor OS are defined in the ION Workflow Definition form. The CRM based data content is published to Infor OS by through a Workflow BOD. The actual workflow process steps and notification logic are defined in the Infor OS based ION Desk Workflow editor. For details related to the workflow editor, see Infor ION Desk User Guide.

ION Workflows support publishing CRM content as Infor OS based alerts, notifications or as approval workflows in the integrated Infor OS Portal (Ming.le) activity feed.
Note: The ION workflow functionality can be used only if Infor CRM SLX is integrated with Infor OS Portal (Ming.le) (ION enabled).

The drillback and in-context functionalities of Infor OS Portal (Ming.le) are supported. For more information on Drillback and in-context functionalities, refer to Infor OS Portal (Ming.le) online help.

The sample ION workflows and the Drillback view definition file can be downloaded from the KB#1918950.

ION Workflows support trigger conditions for the primary CRM entities of Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity, Quote, Sales Order, Invoice, and Ticket. Additional custom CRM entities are enabled by setting the Expose to workflow entity property in Application Architect. See the Application Architect Help topic " Exposing Entities, Properties, and Relationships to CRM Workflows" for detailed steps.

The trigger condition is based on changes to the CRM content of a specific entity record. The condition can be as simple as requiring a specific property to match a status value. Conditions are defined by selecting an entity property, selecting a comparison operator, and providing a constant value for the entity property to compare. To include an additional comparison statement, complex trigger conditions are built using the Add.

The ION Workflow trigger condition is met when all conditional statements are true and one or more of the properties specified in the trigger condition are updated in CRM.
