Closing an Opportunity (lost)

To close an opportunity that is lost:
  1. Access the Opportunity detail view of the opportunity to be closed.
  2. Select Closed-Lost in the Status field.
  3. Modify the Actual Amount of the sale if required.
  4. Modify the Actual Close date if required. To modify the date, click Calendar, select a new date, and then click OK.
  5. Click Ellipsis, select an item or items from the list, and then click OK in the Reason Lost field.
  6. If required, click the Competitor Find to select the competitor that lost the opportunity. To select a competitor, select a competitor from the Find a Competitor window, and then click OK.
  7. Specify any additional notes in the Comments field.
  8. Click Save.
