Closing a Defect

The stage at which a defect is closed and the person responsible for closing the defect depend on the process within your company.

Note: The security access determines what functions are available. Contact the administrator for any access rights changes. WebViewer users cannot access full functionality.

To close a defect:

  1. Access the Defect detail view. See Using the Defect detail view.
  2. Access the Details tab and ensure the Resolution information is complete. See Using the Defect Details Tab
  3. Access the Defect Tasks tab and ensure any needed changes made to defect tasks for this defect prior to closing. See Using the Defect Tasks Tab
  4. Select an item from the list in the Fixed in Version field.
  5. Select Closed in the Status field.
  6. Click Save.
