Adding Relationships

Use the Add Relationship view to add a new relationship. Relationships establish a one-to-many or many-to-one relationship between two entities, a parent and a child.

Note: The system administrator and users with the appropriate role can access these features.

To add a relationship:

  1. Click Entity Manager on the Navigation Bar.
  2. Select the entity of the relationship you want to add from the Entity Manager list.
  3. On the Relationships tab in the lower pane, clickAdd.
  4. Select the parent entity and join field
    1. Click the Parent Entity and Join Field and select the parent entity of the relationship if required.
      By default the parent entity is the entity selected in the Entity Manager list.
    2. Select the field of the parent entity to be used as a join between the two tables from the list.
  5. Click the Relationship field, select the type of relationship, one-to-many (1:M) or many-to-one (M:1), between the two entities.
    The default relationship is 1:M.
  6. Select the child entity and join field.
    1. Click the Child Entity and Join Field and select the child entity of the relationship.
    2. From the list, select the field of the child entity to be used as a join between the two tables.
  7. Click OK.
