Closing an Opportunity (lost)

To close an opportunity that has been lost:
  1. Open the Opportunity Detail view of the opportunity to be closed.
  2. In the Status field, select Closed-Lost.
  3. If required, modify the Actual Amount of the sale.
  4. If required, modify the Actual Close date. To modify the date, click Calendar, select a new date, and then click OK.
  5. In the Reason Lost field, click ellipsis, select an item or items from the list, and then click OK.
  6. If required, click the Competitor Find to select the competitor that lost the opportunity. To select a competitor, select a competitor from the Find a Competitor window, and then click OK.
  7. In the Comments field, specify any additional notes.
  8. Click Save.
