Closing an Account

To close an account you are no longer working with, but want to retain all of the history, you can change the status of the account in the Account Detail view to Closed. For future reference and reporting purposes, you should provide the reason for closing the account. A closed account can still be edited.

To close an account:

  1. Select Accounts from the navigation bar.
  2. Find the account to be closed, and then select the account name.
  3. Click the Status drop-down arrow and select Closed on the Account Detail view,.
  4. Complete the following in the Closed Account dialog box :
    • Click the drop-down arrow to select from the list for the Reason Lost.
    • Click the Closed Date (Calendar) and select a different date if necessary.
      Note: This information is available on the Account Detail view Details tab.
  5. Click Save.
