Converting Leads

After a lead information is qualified, a lead can be converted to a contact and account. The Convert Lead window displays any contacts or account with matching information. Leads with matching information can be merged with an existing contact, added to an existing account, or the lead can be added as a new contact and account. You can change the filter criteria used to find matching records.

Note: Infor CRM SLX can only search for duplicate records only from those files for which you have access. A duplicate record which you cannot access may still exist.

To convert a qualified lead:

  1. Open the Lead Detail view for the lead to be converted, and click Convert Qualified Lead.
    The Convert Lead view opens with lead information displayed at the top of the view and any matching contact and account information displayed below.
  2. Under Match Filters, select the filter check boxes to be applied.
  3. Select one of the following Options:
    • Match all selected filters - A record is a duplicate, only if it matches all of the selected filters.
    • Match any of the selected filters - A record is a duplicate, if it matches any of the selected filters.
  4. To perform an Advanced Search, click the Advanced Options tab.
  5. Click Update Potential Matches.
  6. In the Conflicts field, determine a method to resolve conflicting information by selecting one of the following options:
    • Select Account wins, if you want existing contact information to win.
    • Select Lead wins, if you want conflicting information to be replaced by lead information.
  7. To create an opportunity, select the Create Opportunity after Lead conversion or merge check box.

    All of the leads activities, history and notes are associated with the new opportunity.

  8. Do one of the following:
    • Merge the lead with a matching contact:
      1. In the Matched Contact/Lead Records grid, click Merge next to the record you want to merge with.
      2. Complete the steps for merging records.
    • Add a contact to a matching account: In the Matched Account Records grid, click Add Contact for the account, you want to add a contact to. The lead is added as a contact to the selected account and the Contact detail view opens.
    • Continue converting the lead to a new contact/account: Click Convert
