Working with a Dashboard Column Chart widget

A column chart displays vertical columns to illustrate the differences between specified categories. For example, the total sales potential of opportunities by account manager.

Column chart widgets allow multiple data sources to be defined and compared. Defining more than one data source creates a 'stacked' or 'grouped' column chart where multiple columns display for each item. For example, the total sales potential and total actual sales of opportunities by account manager.

To add or edit a dashboard column widget

  1. Click Dashboard on the navigation bar.
  2. Select the tab for which the widget properties must be defined or modified.
Note: You can add or modify widgets only to a dashboard that you create.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Click Add Widget on the dashboard menu and select Column, or
    • Click to modify the widget properties and the data source(s),
  4. The Widget Settings window is displayed
  5. Define or modify the properties for the widget. See Widget Settings .
  6. Add a data source for column. To create a 'stacked' or 'grouped' column chart you must define multiple data sources using the same dimension, and different metrics. If the data sources do not specify the same entity and dimension, the columns are grouped separately by dimension. For more information about data sources, see Working with Dashboard data sources
  7. Click Save.
