Assigning a Query Layout
Use the Assign Query Layout window to specify the appearance of each column of data (or field) in the query.
To set the layout options:
- Access the query builder and click the Layout tab.
- Add or edit a Layout field.

Specify this information:
- Caption
- The name for the column heading.
- Width
- The size of the column width. The
default value is 100.
Any group width changes you make are applicable only for the current logon session.
- Capt. Align
- The alignment of the column heading.
- Text Align
- The alignment of the data.
- Format Type
- The appropriate format for the type of data displayed in this field.
Note:
- The Phone format type formats the value of a field into a standard U.S. 10-digit phone number. If your company does not use the standard U.S. 10-digit format, you must consider setting the format type for a phone number field to None to prevent any phone number mask from being applied.
- To search for all phone numbers in a list or detail view lookup, there must be at least one phone number column in the default lookup layout group specified for that main view and the column Format Type must be set to Phone. The default lookup layout group option is set in Tools, Options, on the Group tab, Default Lookup Layout option, which is specified for each main view. - Format
- If required, specify a format string to modify the default Format Type you selected.
- Select Entity Linked to link the information in the column to an entity portal view.
- Specify the required class to apply in the Css Class field to apply formatting from a cascading style sheet (CSS),
