Duplicating a Contact

You can duplicate a contact for another account. This is useful if a contact joins another company and you want to associate the contact with both accounts. If you want to associate the contact with only the new account you can move the contact to that account.

You can also choose to duplicate or move other information from the original contact to the new contact. To get the details as to what happens when a contact is duplicated, see What happens when I duplicate a contact?

To duplicate a contact:

  1. Find the contact you want to duplicate.
  2. On the Contact Detail view, click (Duplicate).
  3. Click the To Account search_new (Find), and select the account that must be associated with the duplicate contact.
  4. To create an association between the contacts select Associate the contact in the target account with the source contact.
  5. If you want to replace the contact's address and phone information with the target account's default information, select Use the target account's address and phone number information.
  6. Under Move the following, select the items that must be moved from the original contact to the new contact.
  7. Click OK.
