Working with the Contact Details Tab

The Details Tab appears in the Contact Detail view. This tab contains specific information about the contact, such as the local time and time zone where the contact is located, who the contact was referred by, the department in which the contact works, the salutation, and the contact's assistant's name. You can edit the information at any time by clicking in a box and typing new information, or selecting from a list of available items.

To edit the Details Tab:

  1. From the Contact Detail view of the contact you want to change, click the Details tab. If the tab is not visible, click More Tabs.
  2. When your edits and updates are completed, click (Save).
    Field Description
    Alumni The name of the school, college, or university from which the contact graduated. Click in the box, and specify the required changes.
    Birthday The contact's birthday. Click calendar_new (Calendar) or, select the contact's birth date, and click OK.
    Children The name(s) of the contact's children. Click in the box, and specify the required changes.
    Company Context The contact's role in the company. Click the drop-down arrow and select an item from the list.
    ContactID Displays the contact's ID number that is automatically generated when the contact is created. You cannot change this number.
    Create User, Create Date The name of the user that created the contact and the date it was created.
    Cuisine Preference The contact's food preferences. Click the (ellipsis), select an item or items from the list, and click OK.
    Department The contact's department. Click the drop-down arrow and select an item from the list.
    Email 2 and Email 3 If the contact has more than one email address, enter the addresses in the EMail 2 and EMail 3 fields.
    Employer(s) The name of the contact's previous employer. Click in the box, and specify the required changes.
    Fax Contact's fax telephone number. Click in the field and specify the required changes.
    Gender The contact's gender. Click the drop-down arrow and select an item from the list.
    Home Contact's home telephone number. Click in the field and specify the required changes.
    Import Source Displays a value if the contact information was imported from another source.
    Interests The contact's interests. Click the (ellipsis), select an item or items from the list, and click OK.
    Language The language the contact speaks.
    Marital Status The contact's marital status.
    Modify User, Modify Date The name of the user that last modified this contact and the date the change was made.
    Nationality The contact's nationality.
    Other An additional phone umber for the contact. Click in the box, and specify the required changes.
    Pager The contact's pager number. Click in the box, and specify the required changes.
    Preferred Name The contact's preferred name.
    Prefix Suffix Language Override The selected language code is used by the Contact to update the prefix and suffix of the Contacts' pick list in the required language. You can set this value for each Contact. The default value is based on the browser language.
    Referred By If the contact was referred by someone, enter the name in this box.
    Spouse The name of the contact's spouse. Click in the box, and specify the required changes.
    Time Zone The time zone where the contact is located. Click the drop-down arrow and select from the list.

    Click Show Local Time to display the local time for the contact.

    Additional information is available if your implementation includes a Back Office Extension. This information is for display only and must be added or edited in the integrated application. For specific questions please refer to the documentation for the integrated application or contact your administrator.
