Adding a Quote
Use this view to add a quote, including the account, buyer, order location, customer RFQ and other quote information.
To add a new quote:

Perform one of the following:
- On New menu, click Quote.
- On the Navigation Bar, right-click Quotes, and then click New Quote.
- Open the
Opportunity Detail view of the opportunity you
want to create as a quote. In the Task
Pane, in the Opportunity Tasks
section, click Convert
to Quote.
Any associated products are automatically added to the new quote.

Specify this information:
- Account

The account associated with the quote. An account is required.
- To add an existing account, click the Account (Find) to find the account to be associated with the quote.
- To create a new contact and account to associate with the quote, click (Add account/contact.
- Requested By
- Click (Find) to find the contact requesting the quote.
- Opportunity
- Click (Find) to find the opportunity associated with the quote.
- Order Location (Site, Warehouse, or Office)
- Back Office Integration only. The label depends upon options selected by your administrator. The site, warehouse, or office that generated the quote. Click (Find) to find the appropriate location.
- Account Manager
- Click (Find) to find the person or team within your organization that manages the account and this quote.
- Start Date
- Click (Calendar) to select the start date of the quote. A start date is required.
- Customer RFQ
- Type the customer's request for quote reference number.
- Status
- The status of the quote. Select a value from the list.
- Expiration Date
- To change the date, click (Calendar) to select the date on which the quote will expire. If left blank, this may automatically default to a set number of days after the start date once the quote is created. The number of days is determined by your administrator.
- Currency
- Click (Find) to find the currency associated with the quote
- Exchange Rate
- Displays the exchange rate between the base currency of the company and the quote's currency.
- Comments
- Type any additional notes for the quote.
- Click (Save).

View the Quote
Snapshot. Depending upon your implementation you may be required
to promote your changes to the back office application. If you are required to
promote quotes, you can see one of the following messages:
Message Action to be performed There are pending changes since the last promotion on <date and time of the last promotion>, pricing information may be incorrect. Please submit changes using the Promote link in the Task Pane. In the Task Pane, click Promote to promote your changes to the back office application. There are no pending changes since the last promotion on <date and time of the last promotion>. No action is required. An error occurred during the last sync cycle. Please refer to the Sync History tab for more information.
