Working with a Bar Chart widget

A bar chart displays horizontal bars to illustrate the differences between specified categories. For example, the total sales potential of opportunities by account manager.

Defining more than one data source creates a stacked or grouped bar chart where multiple bars display for each item. For example, the total sales potential and total actual sales of opportunities by account manager.

Note:
  • For working with Welcome page bar charts, see Configuring a Welcome page Charting widget.
  • Your security access determines the functions that are available. You can contact your administrator for modifying the access.

To define or modify the widget properties:

  1. Access the Dashboard or a widget panel.
  2. Select the layout for which the widget properties must be defined or modified.
Note: You can only add or modify widgets to a layout that you have created.
  3. Select Add Widget from the menu and select Bar. The Widget settings window is displayed.
Note: You can also click the Settings icon to modify the widget properties and the data source(s).
  4. Define or modify the properties for the widget. See Widget Settings.
  5. Add a data source for the widget.
Note: To create a 'stacked' or 'grouped' bar chart you must define multiple data sources using the same dimension, and different metrics. If the data sources do not specify the same entity and dimension, the bars are grouped separately by dimension. You can also specify the color for each data source. See Working with widgets data sources.
  6. Click Save.
