Working with a Comparison KPI widget

A comparison Key Performance Indicator (KPI) displays information for two data sources or metrics. This KPI is used when comparing the same metric based on criteria such as different time periods, status, minimum and maximum values of the same metric, or two similar or related metrics.

To define or modify the widget properties:

  1. Access the Dashboard or a widget panel.
  2. Select the layout for which the widget properties must be defined or modified.
    Note: You can add or modify widgets only on a layout that you have created.
  3. Click Add Widget on the menu . Add Widget window is displayed. Click Comparison in the KPIs section. The Widget Settings window is displayed.
    Note: You can also click the Settings icon to modify properties and data source(s) of an existing widget.
  4. Define or modify the properties of the widget. See Widget Settings.
  5. Define these properties for comparison KPI widgets:
    Show Trend
    If this option is enabled, a green arrow is displayed to indicate a positive trend and a red arrow is displayed to indicate a negative trend, in the widget. This option is useful to compare the same metric in different time periods. For example, the same metric for last quarter and this quarter.
    Show Percent
    If this option is enabled, the difference between two values being compared is displayed as a percentage. This option is useful to compare the same metric in different time periods. For example, the same metric for last quarter and this quarter.
    Show Circle
    If this option is enabled, the KPI values are displayed within a colored circle. You can also define the color of the circle for each data source.
  6. Add two data sources for the widget. See Working with widgets data sources.
  7. Click Save.
