Deleting Contacts

When you delete a contact the application can also delete the contact history, notes, and any open activities. You can also delete a contact by deleting the account associated with the contact.

To delete a contact, all associated tickets, sales orders, and quotes must first be deleted.

Possible scenarios for activities, notes, or history items:

  • If associated with other records, the item is not deleted, however the association to the deleted contact is removed.
  • If associated records do not exist, you must have permission to delete calendar items for the Leader of the activities, notes, or history items.

To delete a contact

  1. Find the required contact to delete.
  2. Click Delete in the Contact detail view.
  3. Click OK to permanently delete the record, or Cancel to cancel deletion of the record.

To delete multiple contacts

  1. Select one or more records from the Contacts list view. To select more than one record, hold down [Ctrl] or [Shift], and highlight the records.
  2. Click Delete link on the Task Pane.
  3. Click OK.
