Deleting Accounts

When you delete an account, the application can also delete the associated contacts, history, notes and open activities.

To delete an account, all associated opportunities, sales orders, quotes, contacts with associated assets, contracts, returns, and tickets must first be deleted.

Possible scenarios for activities, notes, or history items:

  • If associated with other records, the item is not deleted, however the association to the deleted account is removed.
  • If associated records do not exist, you must have permission to delete calendar items for the Leader of the activities, notes, or history items.

To delete an account

  1. Select Accounts from the Navigation bar.
  2. Find the account to be deleted.
  3. Click Delete in the Account detail view.
  4. Click OK.

To delete multiple accounts

  1. Select one or more records from the Account list view. To select more than one record, hold down [Ctrl] or [Shift], and highlight the records.
  2. Click Delete link on the Task Pane.
  3. Click OK.
