Creating a category

  1. In CPQ Enterprise Quoting, select Product Maintenance > Categories.
  2. Select a category folder in the tree, under which to create a new category. Select the Home folder to create a top-level category.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Category ID
    The category ID must be unique.
    Name
    The category name is displayed on the Categories form and in the Product Catalog. The name does not have to be unique. Also, this value can be translated. See Adding translations for field values.
    Parent Category
    Optionally, you can change the parent category.
    Sort order
    Specify a number to set the sort order for the category. This sets the order on the Categories form and in the Product Catalog. If no number is specified (the field value is left at 0), then the order is set based on the order in which you add the categories.
  5. By default, the new category is enabled for display in the Product Catalog. You can clear the Enabled check box if you prefer to enable it later.
  6. In the Products grid, all available products in the system are displayed. Using the check boxes in the Enabled column, select the products that should be associated with the new category. You can use the filter fields in the top row to find specific products or you can click Enable All to enable all products for this category.
  7. Navigate back to the Categories form and confirm that your new category has been added.
