About entity prefixes

Entity prefixes are used to create unique identifiers for entities such as sales quote and order cards. The prefix that is specified for each entity is displayed at the top of the card, followed by the specified number of characters for pad length, followed by a dash, followed by the version number of the entity.

For example, if a direct quote has a prefix of DQ, a pad length of 6, and it is the first version of the quote, the resulting identifier for a new direct quote would be DQ007572-1.

Pre-defined entity prefixes are provided in the system, and they cannot be deleted. You can modify the prefix and pad length.
