Entering quotes and orders
Your ability to create quotes and orders is based on the permissions that the EQ administrator assigns to you when your account is added to the system. These are the available quote and order levels:
- Direct quote/order
- None: This is assigned if you do not need to create or modify direct quotes and orders in the system. You can only view them.
- Quote Only: You can view direct quotes and orders and create and modify direct quotes. Quotes created at this level must be converted to orders by a different user who has at least the Can Convert Quotes to Orders permission.
- Can Convert Quotes to Orders: You can view direct quotes and orders, create and modify direct quotes, and convert direct quotes to orders, partially or in full.
- Can Order Directly: You can view direct quotes and orders, create and modify direct quotes, and convert direct quotes to orders, partially or in full. You can also create an order without having to first create a quote. Only this permission level can place and maintain orders.
- On-behalf-of dealer (OBO) quote/order: The permission levels for entering on-behalf-of
quotes and orders are the same as those for entering direct quotes and orders, as defined
above.
When you quote on behalf of a selected dealer, you are "impersonating" a dealer user. You see the exact information that the dealer user has in their view, including that user's special pricing (if applicable), product list, and customer list.
Your direct and OBO permissions may be set differently. For example, if your direct privilege is Quote Only but your OBO privilege is Can Order Directly, you can create/modify only quotes for the manufacturer, but you can create/modify dealer quotes, convert them to orders, and also create a dealer order without a quote.
Based on your assigned permissions, review the applicable topics in this section for more information.
