How approval task notifications are triggered
This topic gives examples of how an approval task notification is triggered for pricing and configuration changes.
Pricing change workflow on a quote or order
A pricing change request is the same for quotes and orders and can be submitted by dealer or direct representatives. This example is for a dealer quote.
Only users assigned to the Pricing Approvers group receive notifications for these changes.
- In the Pricing section of the quote summary panel, the dealer clicks Edit Pricing Details.
- The dealer changes the manufacturer's discount amount and exceeds the threshold that has been set for them. A message is displayed, asking the user to submit the change for approval.
- The dealer clicks at the top of the form. A new form is displayed where the dealer can enter a comment.
- The dealer clicks .
Pricing change workflow on an agreement
A pricing change request on an agreement can be submitted by only dealer representatives. See also Working with agreements.
Only users assigned to the Pricing Approvers group receive notifications for these changes.
- On the line item of an agreement, the dealer changes the default value in the Discount field to request a higher discount, because the expected volume has also been increased.
- The dealer clicks at the top of the form. A dialog box is displayed, prompting the dealer to confirm the request, since this action will make the agreement read-only until the process is complete.
- The dealer clicks .
Configuration change workflow
A configuration change request is the same for quotes and orders and can be submitted by dealer or direct representatives. This example is for a dealer quote.
Only users assigned to the Configuration Approvers group receive notifications for these changes.
- On the Quotes form, the dealer clicks Add Items and selects an applicable configurable item.
- The dealer clicks , specifies configuration choices, and clicks .
- Back on the Quotes form for this quote, the Status field for the line item shows Request Review. The
dealer has these options:
- If this is the only item on the quote that needs to be reviewed, the dealer can click the Actions icon on the line and select .
- If there are multiple items that must be reviewed, the dealer can click Edit Configuration Requests in the Configuration section of the quote summary panel, and on the form that is displayed, click .
In either case, a form is displayed where the dealer can enter a comment.
