Adding application settings records

When you add a record, you can enable it for use immediately by selecting the Enabled check box, or you can leave the check box cleared and enable records later, as needed. As you add records, they are saved automatically. You do not need to click a Save button.

These steps for adding application settings records are the same for all record types:

  1. In CPQ Enterprise Quoting, expand the Application Settings menu option.
  2. Select a record type, such as Countries or Freight Terms.
  3. On the form that opens, click the create icon.
  4. Specify the required information. For most implementations, CPQ Enterprise Quoting is integrated with a host system, so the values entered here must match the values in the host system.

    Notes:
    • When adding countries, after you specify the country name and code, you must press the Enter key to display fields for adding states or provinces.
    • Customer types are relationship categories for dealers. The customer type values are displayed on each dealer form as the Type field. You can create as many customer types as necessary. Each dealer may be assigned to only one customer type.
    • When adding shipping methods, each one must be assigned to a parent shipping carrier.
  5. Optionally, to make the record available for user in the system immediately, select Enabled.
  6. Repeat for each record type until all required records have been added.
