Pre-defined roles
These are the pre-defined roles for CPQ Enterprise Quoting:
Role | Description |
---|---|
Enterprise Quoting (EQ) Administrator | The EQ administrator is an employee of the manufacturer who sets up and maintains
CPQ Enterprise Quoting and rolls it out to direct
representatives of the company and to dealerships for the company. This role has
access to all CPQ Enterprise Quoting forms and
functions. This is the only role that can administer application settings and preferences and set up approver groups for pricing and configuration changes in the application. Note: An EQ
administrator is considered to be a direct representative in the application and can
also enter quotes and orders.
|
Direct Representative Also referred to as direct rep user. |
Direct representatives are employees of the manufacturer who
primarily enter quotes and orders. These users can also help maintain dealerships,
agreements, projects, products, and price lists. By default, direct reps can enter quotes and orders for the manufacturer or on behalf of (OBO) a selected dealership; however, these privileges can be changed as needed. Typically these users are added to the system by the EQ administrator and can be assigned to various territories, if territories have been created by the administrator. Territories provide security, so users have access to only the dealerships, quotes, and orders from their assigned area. |
Direct No Access | This role is used when a direct representative does not need access to CPQ Enterprise Quoting forms, but you want to keep their user account in the system. |
Dealer Administrator |
A user in this role is an employee of a dealership and the first representative created for the dealer. This user maintains company profile information and application settings for the dealership. Dealer administrators also set up dealer representatives and territories in the system; can add customers, agreements, and projects; and can enter dealer quotes and orders. Dealer administrator tasks are described in the CPQ Enterprise Quoting user guide for dealers. |
Dealer Representative Also referred to as dealer rep user. |
Users with this role can perform tasks in the same areas as the
dealer administrator, except for My Company settings. These users primarily enter
quotes and orders for the dealership. Typically dealer rep users are added to the system by the dealer administrator and can be assigned to territories if territories have been created by the dealer administrator. Again, territories provide security, so users have access to only the customers, quotes, and orders from their assigned area. Dealer representative tasks are described in the CPQ Enterprise Quoting user guide for dealers. |
Dealer No Access | This role is used when a dealer representative does not need access to CPQ Enterprise Quoting forms, but their user account is kept in the system. |
