Creating a new quote

This is the general process for creating a quote. For information about creating the quote on behalf of a selected dealer, refer to the "About on-behalf-of mode" topic.

This procedure can be completed by any user who has one of these quote and order privileges:

  • Quote Only
  • Can Convert Quote to Orders
  • Can Order Directly
  1. In CPQ Enterprise Quoting select Quotes.
  2. Click New Quote.
  3. Click Select Customer.
  4. Find and select the customer who will receive the quote.
  5. Click Add Items.
  6. Search the Product Catalog or navigate through the item list to select the items that are required for the quote.

If you select a configurable item, you can then click Configure to open the CPQ Enterprise Configurator and choose from provided options.

  7. To review or work with individual line items on the quote, click the blue line item link in the upper right corner of the form.
  8. To complete line items, use these fields:
    Line
To indicate the sequence in which each line item should display on the quote, specify an integer in the Line field.
    Item
To display and review the details of the line item, click an item expansion icon (+). You can specify a custom label for the item and a requested ship date, and both will be displayed on the bid document. Expanding a configured line item displays a nested list of the selected configuration details and options.
    Quantity
To adjust the required quantity of the line item, specify a value in the Quantity field.
  9. Additional functions can be used by clicking the actions icon (…) at the end of a line. See Line item actions.
  10. In the Quote Summary panel, you can edit the header details, pricing details, and configuration requests, as necessary. See About header details and About pricing details.
  11. Click Back to Lines.
  12. When the quote is complete, you can use options in the More... and Print menus to add attachments, generate a bid document, and/or email the quote to the appropriate people. See Standard quote/order functions.
