Adjustment restrictions

Restrictions Journal Types
Formula types allowed Acquisition journals can include one or more of these formula types:
  • Acquisition (type Q) used only in Acquisition journals
  • Data entry (type D) used in multiple journal types
  • Formula (type F) used in multiple journal types

Standard and Standard PL-BS journals allow one or more of these formula types:

  • Allocation (type A)
  • Data (type D)
  • Formula (type F)
  • Intercompany (type I)
Account types allowed Acquisition lines (type Q) in Acquisition journals must be balance sheet lines (account type BA, BE, BL, or BS). Data entry (type D) and formula (type F) lines in Acquisition journals are profit and loss lines (account type PR, PE, or PS) or balance sheet lines and should be part of a beginning balance or opening balance suite to allow the values to carry forward properly to future periods.

Standard and Standard PL-BS journals allow both profit and loss lines (PR, PE, or PS) and balance sheet lines (BA, BE, BL, or BS).

Do not mix account types in a Standard journal (the adjustments should include only profit and loss OR balance sheet lines). Standard PL-BS journals should be used to post adjustments with mixed account types. For details, see "Standard PL-BS Journal Behavior" in the Infor CPM Consolidation User Guide.

Accounts not recommended Do not include accounts that belong to two or more schedules of different periodicities (for example, a monthly schedule and a quarterly schedule). These lines produce inconsistent consolidation results. Do not select a formula line or allocation line if the formula was written against the selected version. For details, see "Formula or Allocation Lines" in the Infor CPM Consolidation User Guide.
Unit restrictions Do not include elimination (E), ownership (O), or consolidation units.
Maximum adjustments allowed per journal The maximum number of adjustments allowed for any journal type is 500. The last row can only be populated using the Add Line command or by direct manual entry (not by pasting). If more than 500 are needed, create two or more journals.
