Balanced attribute
- Single-sided entries are
allowed if the line is not required to balance (that is, the Balanced attribute
for the line is N).
- The Balanced attribute
for the schedule line is displayed in the Journal Entry Adjustment table. The
value Y indicates the line is used to balance a unit's adjustments. The value N
indicates the line is not used to balance a unit's adjustments.
- If lines are required to
balance, the total debits and total credits for all lines with this attribute
must equal. The journal checks double-sided entries using accounting debits and
credits. Double-sided entries must balance within a unit, version, period, and
year. Additionally, they must balance within each currency in Acquisition
journals.
- Journals that include
intercompany lines respect the Balanced attribute if:
- The lines required to
balance for each unit are only intercompany lines, and all the lines for any
particular unit use the same currency.
- The lines required to
balance for each unit are a combination of standard and intercompany lines, and
all the intercompany lines for any particular unit use the local currency of
the selected unit.
