General information
This section provides you with rules that govern the Erase Data process and example scenarios of the fact tables from which data is erased (based on the selected currency and options available).
- Get Row Count does not report row counts for the FINxxxAUDSOURCE_BASE tables.
- If the date range (all the members between the selected Start and End periods) does not include a leaf member for the periodicity of a selected schedule, the data for that schedule is not erased. For example, if the date range includes only January, February, and March, data for a quarterly schedule is not erased.
- Erase Data processes all accounts in the selected schedule.
- Data for ancestors of the selected Period dimension members are also erased.
- Data for ancestors of the selected Unit dimension or custom dimension members are not erased. Descendants are not erased unless specifically selected.
- Any data derived from the erased data will also be erased. For example, selecting local currency causes all translated data for the selected unit, version, period/year, and custom dimension members to also be erased, regardless of the type of unit (consolidation, reporting, affiliated, or elimination unit).
- Adjustment and net data produced by the Consolidation process are erased. When adjustment data is erased, Erase Data preserves the journal definition and the journal posting status.
- Selecting the Intercompany Data option and an affiliated unit causes the Erase Data process to erase elimination or ownership units' adjustment data produced by the Prepare Intercompany Eliminations process associated with the intercompany transactions.
- Erase Data erases financial data and/or intercompany data only. When the Financial Data and/or Intercompany Data options are selected, only the applicable data in the fact tables is erased. Detail Budgeting data, worksheet detail data, and notes are not erased.
- After erasing intercompany or ownership adjustment data, re-run the Prepare Intercompany Eliminations process to update the Intercompany Eliminations journal data.
- After erasing any data, re-run the Consolidation process to roll up the changed data, compute new totals, and post any new journals.
- (Oracle Only) You cannot select more than 1,000 members for any one dimension. If you exceed the limit to the Oracle member list, Erase Data cannot process the request and returns an error.
