Editing journals

You can change any journal adjustment prior to posting. Once a journal is posted (i.e., at least one adjustment is posted), no adjustment on the journal (posted or unposted) can be deleted; and the only change that can be made to Standard or Standard PL-BS journal adjustments is to the effective life. Posted acquisition journal adjustments allow changes to the effective life and any unposted currency amount.

If the Journal Entry page does not include the Available for Posting status, you can only edit working journals (not approved journals). You also cannot change the effective life of an approved or posted journal.

To edit an existing journal, first select the journal from the journal list and then follow the instructions below to modify it.

If the definition of a submitted journal is changed and the journal includes intercompany lines, the Prepare Intercompany Eliminations process must be re-run to include the revised adjustment.
