Data entry
This chapter provides instruction on specifying various types of data from the web. For instructions on specifying data using Excel Services, see the Infor CPM Excel Services - View Based User Guide.
Controllers can track the status of data submitted by units using the Approval process. Here are the general data entry guidelines common to any view used for submitting data to the database.
These areas are discussed in this chapter:
- General data entry guidelines for standard accounts (formula types A (acquisition), D (data), and F (formula) only) as well as instructions on using commands on the toolbar and right-click menu.
- Approval process instructions on submitting data for approval and approving or rejecting data for both standard accounts and intercompany lines for both Budgeting and Financial Consolidation users.
- Instructions on top down spreading.
- Instructions for specifying investor relationship data on a period-by-period basis as well as ownership properties for applications with the Ownership process enabled.
- (Financial Consolidation Only) General data entry guidelines for intercompany accounts (formula type I only) as well as instructions for creating summary local intercompany data.
- Information regarding year-to-date data behavior.
As a general rule when specifying data for standard or intercompany lines, specify data at the lowest level in the unit hierarchy. The Local Consolidation process that is available from the data entry interface operates on a single unit.
If you are copying and pasting data between Excel and a CPM data entry page, the decimal separators must be the same.
