Specify the weights for each applicable cell. The number specified
in each column determines how the amount in the
Value box of the
Phasing dialog box is distributed, or spread,
among the cells in your selected range.
Column 1 corresponds to the first cell of the selected range on
your grid, column 2 corresponds to the second cell of your selected range,
column 3 corresponds to the third cell in your range, and so on.
The data is called a spread string. The amount distributed to
each cell in the range is a fraction of the Value box amount, where the
numerator is the assigned weight, and the denominator is the sum of the
weights.
Range Cell Value = Value Field Amount x Row Weight/Total
Weights
For example, if the spread string is 1,1,1,1,0,1,1 and the value
to spread is 60, the fraction for the first cell is 1/6, or 1/(1+0+1+1+1+1+1).
Each cell with a weight of 1 receives 10 (or 1/6 * 60), and every cell with a
weight of 0 receives 0. If there are four weights in the weight list but only
three cells selected in the range, the first three weights are totaled, and the
fourth is ignored.
