Rules

• Performing an Approval process action such as submitting data for approval, updates the status for the selected units, period | year, and version.
• If the selected unit is a parent and:
  • The data is submitted for approval, the status for the parent and any unapproved descendants updates to Submitted.
  • The data is approved, the status for the parent and its descendants updates to Approved.
  • The data is rejected, the status for the parent updates to Rejected, but the status for any unapproved descendants remains Unsubmitted.
• Data and status cannot be changed for a read-only view. A view is read-only when:
  • The data has already been submitted for approval or approved.
  • The Submit for Approval view does not share the same view for specifying data. Data can only be submitted for approval, not modified. When data is submitted for approval, the status is changed to Submitted.
  • The user is not authorized to submit or approve data for the selected unit.
