Adding actions to an existing position

To add an action to an existing position:

  1. Open the Position Assignments page.
  2. From the Version list, select the version.
  3. From the Unit list, select the unit.
  4. Click Position Details for the position to which you want to add an action.
  5. Click the Actions tab.
  6. For hourly positions, specify Hours or FTE.
  7. From the Assign New Action list, select the action you want to add.
  8. In the Start Date column, specify the start date.
  9. In the End Date column, specify the end date. This setting does not apply to all actions.
  10. Change the other values as needed.
    • For actions increasing the base pay rate by an amount, specify the hourly increase amount for hourly positions, or the annual salary increase for salaried positions in the Amount column.
    • For Rate x Quantity actions, specify the annual quantity in the Quantity column and optionally, the rate in the Rate column.
    • For Flat amount actions, specify the annual amount in the Amount column.
    • For Step Up actions, specify the number of steps to increase in the Step Up column. This value must be a positive whole number.
    • For Headcount actions, specify the new headcount in the Amount column.
    • Values in the Percent column should be specified in decimal format. For example, 5.50 is five and one-half percent.
