Creating the Intercompany Transaction Detail report

After creating the report, look for missing transactions or transactions outside the requested tolerance. These items can require corrective action from one or more of the affiliated units involved before the controller posts intercompany journal data.

  1. Open the Intercompany Transaction Detail Report page.
  2. From the Start and End lists, select the period range for which data was specified. For any period outside the focus range, the report displays translated intercompany data that was previously generated by the report when that period was in focus. This is true even if all periods are outside the focus range.
  3. From the Version list, select a version.
  4. From the Journal List section, select one or more Intercompany Eliminations journals for reporting purposes. Journal data is generated by using the Prepare Intercompany Eliminations process.
To select all journals, select the Select All Journals option. To select journals individually, select the box in the Include column next to the journal.
To show in the list, a journal's periodicity, effective life, and version must correspond with the selected period range and version. Any time you change the settings for period/year and version, click Update Journal List to show the journals applicable to your new selection. If necessary, a scroll bar is available for the journal list, which shows five journals at a time.
After selecting a journal, you can select a tolerance or combination of tolerances to define what transactions are within (a match) or outside (a mismatch) of the specified tolerance. You can base tolerance on (1) a percent tolerance, (2) a fixed amount tolerance, (3) a percent and a fixed amount tolerance, or (4) a percent or a fixed amount tolerance. Set the tolerances by following these steps:
    • Percent. Specify a value between 0 and 100 to define a percent tolerance. International number formatting is supported.
    • And/Or. Leave the operator field blank (default) or select an operator from the list. If you specify only one tolerance, leave the operator field blank. If you specify both types of tolerances, you must select an operator.
    • Amount. Specify a positive, whole number to define a fixed amount tolerance. The amount specified is associated with the selected currency.
  5. To change the dimension members, click the underlined dimension name, and select members from the dialog box.
    1. Organization Unit. Select one or more affiliated units from the list. Do not select a non-affiliated unit from the list since the report only displays data for affiliated units. If an affiliated unit is not selected, you are prompted to select at least one affiliated unit. Selecting a consolidation affiliated unit does not automatically include the implied descendants. In other words, you must specifically select the leaf affiliated units in addition to the consolidation unit.
    2. Product/Sales Channel. Select one or more custom dimension members. Selecting a parent member as Self does not include the implied descendants (the report includes only selected members).
  6. From the Currency list, select one or more currencies.
  7. From the Exchange Rate Set list, select the same rate set to be used during a consolidation.
  8. Select the YTD check box for the report to match based on year-to-date data. Year-to-date data is calculated when the report is run. Clear the check box for the report to match based on periodic data.
  9. Click Options. These options are available:
    Option Description
Display Category/Other Dimensions Select this check box to show custom dimension members associated with the intercompany transactions. This is a default option. If this option is not selected and data exists for more than one custom dimension member, adjustments to different custom dimension members can look like duplicate adjustments on the report.
Display Within Tolerance Select this check box to separately show the intercompany transactions (as stored in the database) that fall within the specified tolerance.
Display Outside Tolerance Select this check box to separately show the intercompany transactions (as stored in the database) that fall outside the specified tolerance.
Display Missing Select this check box to separately show the intercompany transactions that have a missing Match or missing Match With lines.
Round to number Decimal Places Select this check box to show database amounts on the report that are rounded to the specified number of decimal places.
Seconds Between Progress Updates Specify this option to update the status on the progress meter according to the specified number of seconds while the journal data is being prepared. The default interval is 2 seconds.
  10. Click Generate Report.
