Copying data for selected members

To copy data for selected members:

  1. Open the Copy Financial Data page.
  2. Select a source and destination version. The destination version can be the same as the source version if the destination period range is different than the source period range.
  3. Select the Selected Members option. This is the default.
  4. From the Source Periods Start and End lists, select a starting and ending period. For unmerged Period and Year dimensions, also select a source year. To copy only one period, the period range should start and end with the same period. To copy an entire year, select the range Opening Balance-Total Year. The source period range:
    • Must be within the same year.
    • Must be in the same hierarchical level. For example, you can select Quarter 1-Quarter 2, not Quarter 1-June.
  5. From the Destination Periods Start and End lists, select a starting and ending period for the period range that should receive the copied data. The destination period range:
    • Must be within the same year.
    • Must be in the same hierarchical level. For example, you can select Quarter 1-Quarter 2, not Quarter 1-June.
    • Must contain the same number of periods as the source period range.
    • Must include members of the same hierarchical level as the source period range.
    • Must be different than the source period range if the source and destination versions and years are the same.
    • Can include a different year than the source year.
  6. Use Include Period Descendants when selecting period hierarchy members to include all periods below the selected member. Clear the option to copy a selected non-leaf period member. You can also select the Leaf Descendants Only option.
  7. From the Exchange Rate Set Source and Destination lists, select a source and destination exchange rate set. The destination rate set can be the same as the source rate set if the destination period range is different than the source period range.
Your administrator can exclude this option from the page.
  8. From the Schedules box, select one or more schedules to copy. We recommend using the same schedules as when consolidating the data.
  9. Click the underlined dimension names to select dimension members. We recommend using the same members used when consolidating the data. You can select one or more reporting or consolidation units. You can also select one or more custom dimension members.
  10. Click Copy Financial Data.
