Discussions

You can track the history of decisions for a plan object across associated dimension members with the Discussions option. A discussion is a series of comments made by users. With this feature, you can add comments, review comments made by others, and add attachments.

All users can read discussion comments. Administrators, planners, and suppliers can add comments and attachments. Users can only see comments and attachments for the plan objects and units they have permission to see.

Attachments can have any file extension allowed by Internet Information Services (IIS) on the web server computer.

Select Menu Options > Show Discussions to open the Discussions button. The Discussions button provides a summary of the number of comments as well as a summary of the most recent comment. Click View Discussions to open the Discussions panel.

There are two ways to filter the comments. You can use the List Filtering Options list to restrict the comments shown. You can restrict the comments with these options:

  • None
  • Attachments Only
  • With URLs
  • Marked High Importance

The List Dimension Filters let you restrict the comments list by dimension. The list contains the members representing the currently selected row member and off-grid members. There is only one member per dimension. The dimensions are enabled by selecting the check box. Selecting the check box means the discussion filter applies to the union of the enabled dimensions. The primary dimension's selected member is always selected and the check box cannot be cleared. The primary dimension is determined by report. It is the down dimension for table reports or the displayed dimension for Overview reports. Off-grid members determine the dimension members for other dimensions.
