Exceptions

While a plan provides three default coloration to use for values (activity, outcome (value) and variance), you can specify exceptions for specific plan objects and units. Thus, a planner or administrator only has to specify the exceptions to the default color-coding for values. You can associate a custom scheme with a plan object and organization unit. It can be for any one of these combinations:

  • A specific plan object and unit combination
  • All units for one plan object
  • All plan objects for a specific unit

A linked object cannot have its own exception colors. All linked objects inherit the settings of their original object.

The ValueStyle, VarianceStyle, and ActivityStyle color schemes define the default scheme to use for performance values but you can define exceptions for specific Plan objects and units. The Traditional Sample has an example of how to use a color scheme for exception handling.

ValueStyle colors are applied to Outcome. VarianceStyle colors are applied to Variance, and ActivityStyle colors are applied to Activity.
