Move a plan to another server

This section provides an overview on how to move a plan from one server to another.

• Backup the relational database using SQL Server Management Studio.
• Backup the cube using Analysis Manager.
• Copy the backup files to destination server computer.
• Restore the relational database and recreate login ID.
• Restore the Analysis Services database. Change the server name, and process the database.
• Change the server names using the Manage Data Sources page.
• Move attachments by copying the ProgramData\Infor\CPM\StrategyManagement\StrategyAttachments directory on the CPM Server computer to the new CPM Server computer.
• Optionally, move measures data. You can move data from a SQL table or CPM views. If measures data is moved to a different server, you must use the Application Wizard to change the machine name in the connection string for the data source. Measures data does not need to be moved when a plan is moved; they can be on different servers.
