Rules when accumulating over time

These rules are used when the Measured values accumulate over time check box is selected on the Edit Measures Definition tab when the measure was defined. This is the typical case for most measurements.

  • Current calculates the sum of the target and actual values for the selected period.
  • YTD calculates the sum of the target and actual values using the periods in the year. The periods used include the selected period and all prior periods in the year. If the year cannot be determined, such as when the top period in the Period dimension is selected, then the actual value will be treated as missing and no value will appear.
  • Total Year calculates the sum of the target values using all periods in the year. Actual values use the selected period and all prior periods in the year.
  • Plan to Date calculates the sum of the target and actual values using the periods in the plan. The periods used include the selected period and all prior periods in the year. If the top period of the Period dimension is selected, that is equivalent to including all the periods.
  • Total Plan calculates the sum of the target values using all periods in the year. Actual values use the selected period and all prior periods in the year.
