Property set options dialog box

The Property Set Options dialog box enables you to specify whether a property set is public or private. Public property sets are used by multiple load definitions. If a property set is private, it is only used by the load definition that defines it.

When a property set is created, it is initially set as private. The appearance of this dialog box can vary depending on the current status of the property set.

The Property Set Options dialog box is available for the Loadable Members, Source File, Table, Columns, and Transformations tabs. You can save the information from each of these tabs to a public property set. The information is saved by tab.

For example, to save the settings for the Loadable Members and Columns tab, you must select Property Set Options on the Loadable Members and the Columns tab.

Any changes made to a public property set are automatically picked up by all the load definitions that reference the property set that was changed.

This table shows the options if a property set is defined as public:

Option Description
Make this property set private Select this option to associate the property set with the load definition that defined it. This option is displayed after a property set has been defined public.
Keep this property set public Select this option to share a property set with multiple load definitions. Selecting this option enables the Name text box.
Use existing public property set Select this option to use an existing public property set. Selecting this option enables the Name list.
Name These text boxes let you specify a name for a property set. A name is required if you select the Make this property set public or Use existing public property set options.

We recommend you specify a unique name for the property set.

Property set names are sorted alphanumerically.
