Load definitions

The Load Definitions section is where you will create, edit, and run load definitions. The Load Definitions section also provides status information. You can see who ran the load definition last, what file was loaded, and when it was run.

The appearance of the Load Definition section varies depending on the mode you are running. Admin mode gives you the full functionality of OpenLink. Basic mode enables you to run load definitions if the mode is not specified in the URL. You can view reports but you cannot create or edit load definitions.

See Creating a load definition for information on where load definitions are saved.

Option Description
Run the selected load definition.
Restore the data to the values present in the database before the last run of the load. This option is useful if you have loaded data in error, perhaps to the wrong version or period. Undoing large loads may take some time. You can expect an undo to take approximately one minute per 100,000 data points.
Create a new load definition.
Edit an existing load definition.
Duplicate the selected load definition.
Open the Summary vs. Detail report. This reports enables you to compare the data loaded to the financial model. The report is for the currently selected load file. See "Summary vs. Detail Report".
Open the Mapping Changes report. The Mapping Changes report enables you to review any modifications made to the member mappings within a specified data range. See "Mapping Changes Report".
Status Shows the status of the load definition. See Load status legend.
Load Definition Name Name of the load definition. This name is defined in the wizard.
Source Name and location of the last source loaded or the source data specified in the load definition. To use a different source without modifying the load definition, click the browse button to open the Open dialog box where you can navigate to another file. Valid file types for upload are set up by your administrator.
Browse Click the ellipsis to browse to the source file location and select the source file to load. This is a required step with every load even if the load definition has been previously run.
Ignore Errors Select the Ignore Errors check box so that the load process does not stop when an error is encountered and the line in error is not loaded. If the Ignore Errors check box is clear, no data is loaded when errors are encountered.
Last User to Run Shows the user name of the last person to run the load definition.
Last Run Shows the date when the load definition was last run.
