Definition

The Definition tab is where you begin to create a map definition file. This tab is also displayed first when you edit an existing load definition.

These are the options:

Option Description
Active Clear this check box to deactivate a load definition. When a load definition is deactivated, it is removed from any periods where it has not been run but it stays in any period where it has been run and the audit trail is available.
Load Type Shows the load type. It can be Financial Data or Currency Exchange Rates.
Name Specify the name for the load definition. You can specify up to 40 alphanumeric characters. This field is required. We recommend that you specify unique names for your load definitions.
Load Group Financial Data only. Available load groups. A load group is a means of grouping data loads together. By default, this is the workflow load group. Changing the default moves the load definition to the same unit in another group. See "Load Groups".
Description Specify the description for the load definition. By default, the name is used as a description. The description can only be viewed on the Definition tab. You can specify up to 255 alphanumeric characters.
Member Member selected in the Workflow Navigation section. You can change the member by clicking the browse button to display the Member Selection dialog box.
Period Shows the period covered.
Year Shows the year.
Load Frequency Frequency of the load definition that is displayed in the Load Definitions section as a required task. These options depend on how your database is set up and what you have selected for Period in the Workflow Navigation section. The Run Once option is always available.
Source Select the source. These are the choices:
  • File
  • Table | View
The selection you make here determines the additional tabs you must complete. If you select File, you will see the Loadable Members, Source File, Columns, and Transformations tabs. If you select Table | View, you will see the Loadable Members, Source, Table, Columns, and Transformations tabs. Selecting Table also provides access to database views.
